November: The Georg Kohl Group, a service bureau, revamps its entire fleet of inserting systems and also decides on the installation of the Kern 60 Logistic Systems.

May: The newly developed Kern 2600 high speed inserting system is unveiled at drupa, which is the printing industry’s largest trade show. The system sets new standards for performance, modularity, flexibility, ease of operation and maintenance friendliness.

April: Kern provides support for a nationwide event for female schoolchildren known as Girl’s Day and gave interested pupils information about pursuing a career as a service technician. The enterprises and organisations that participated in the event offered a total of 8,626 events with space for 132,537 pupils.

January: Aachen-based AMB Generali, an insurance company, decides to beef up its Kern fleet by purchasing three high speed Kern 3500 inserting systems.
